sad movie night…

Today has been a slower paced day for us which has been nice after the busy weekend. Last night Maeven decide she didn’t want to sleep and so Erin and I were up and down most of the night. Between a night of little sleep and the busy weekend Erin was not feeling to well today and so has been trying to fight off whatever bug she might be getting and get caught back up on rest.

So after going to church this morning I came back home to Erin and Maeven and my grandparents stopped by for one last visit before they go back to MI tomorrow. It was a good visit and Maeven was really happy and smiley for them!

Tonight though Erin still wasn’t feeling well and so we decided to stay in and try to get her feeling better. I had some movies that had came in on Netflix and so we decided to put one in the dvd player. We decided to watch a movie called “Hachi: A Dog’s tale”. The movie was about a professor who found a puppy and raised it. Every day it would follow him to the train station when he went to work and then would be there waiting for him when he returned. Eventually the professor passed away, but for the next 9 years the dog would be waiting each day at the train station for him to return. Needless to say by the time the movie was over both Erin and I were in tears. I have found over the years that two things that always get me are movies about fathers and movies about dogs. Don’t know why but they do. And to make matters worse as the movie was wrapping up my boxer Angel came over to be petted, almost as if to say remember I’m a good dog too! Anywhoo it was a great movie, totally clean, and I would highly recommend it.

Now, it’s time to get ready for the day ahead tomorrow. But, I can say I am truly thankful for the past few days with my family and that I am truly a blessed man.
