About a week ago I finally got to the point where I realized not only that I needed to lose some weight but that I was also at a point where I was not being a healthy dad for my daughter and and a healthy husband to my wife. So I decided to take some steps in getting healthier with eating better portion control and things like that. The big thing that I knew I needed to do was to exercise. For my whole life whenever I exercise I am able to slim down and lose weight.
That being said about exercise there is a hard truth. While many people think that working in a fitness facility would make it easy to work out, it can be hard and discouraging. After long hours of work the last thing you want to do is to come in early or stay late. In the past I have tried coming in early but after a few days the lure of my bed keeps me from coming in. So much like we often need an accountability partner for spiritual issues I needed a physical fitness partner. Thankfully God provided one for me in Tim who is working at the Rec Center with me. The motivation of knowing someone else is getting up early to come in and work out with me motivates me to get out of bed even when I really really don’t want to. After one week of working out I am feeling better and have already begun to lose some weight. I pray that we will be able to keep going strong and that I will become the healthier man my family needs me to be!
