read the fine print….

As many of you know my daughter Maeven has a huge love for Mickey Mouse and loves here morning times of watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  I decided the other day that  I needed to introduce her to old school Mickey cartoons that I got to watch when I was a kid.  You know the old ones like Mickey’s camper and the one where Mickey, Donald, and Goofy hunt ghosts.  So I began looking online and found that Disney really doesn’t have any current dvd’s of the cartoons I remember.  Evidently they released two large collections in 2001 but the only way you can get them is on ebay.  So, that’s what I set out to do…find them on ebay!

After much searching I thought I had found the best deal and ordered my sweet baby girl her first collection of old school Mickey.  This evening when I returned home from the Rec Center I found a box waiting on me in the mail.  When I opened this box, I was excited to see my dvd there and was hoping to watch a few cartoons with Maeven right away.  Yet, in my excitement I noticed something was wrong.  I could read words like “Walt Disney” and “Mickey Mouse” on the cover, yet the majority of the cover was in Portuguese!  Surely this was not the Mickey Mouse dvd I ordered!!!

my Brazilian Mickey DVD

I hurriedly hopped on my computer and went to my ebay acount.  Even though the main description clearly said this was a region 1 dvd, their at the bottom of the page it said it was from Brazil!  Although it reassured me that it should play on a USA dvd player and be in English, I just couldn’t bring myself to tear off the shrink wrap.  So, I did what any smart person would do…and relisted it on ebay and hope to make my money back.  Don’t worry I clearly labled it Brazilian!

Lastly, if you would like an authentic Disney dvd from Brazil about Mickey Mouse….please let me know!
