This past weekend Erin and I had the opportunity to attend an FCA marriage retreat/conference in Lexington. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and the opportunity to fellowship with so many other believers who have a passion to reach our students by using sports as a tool for Christ. Perhaps, the biggest encouragment to me was hearing the testimonies of how God has worked in the lives of several of the couples that were there to bring them closer to Him and each other during very trying times in their marriage. Hearing from couples that are going through terrible illnesses together and those who have struggled with having to deal with distance. Just hearing n0 matter what obstacle you face in marriage God is bigger and can bring you and your spouse through them. While I know all this already, it was just a huge encouragement to hear their testimonies.
Last night we returned to Beattyville, where we picked up Maeven from my parents. It was the first time we have left her over night without us since she was born. While we were thankful for our alone time at the retreat, it was great to come home to Maeven’s smiling face. God has truly given us a precious gift in Maeven!!
This morning I went to LCHS for our weekly FCA huddle. It was very encouraging as many of our students who had missed some lately came back and we even had a new student to join us as well! Please continue to pray for growth in our students!
God is good and I can’t wait to see what the rest of this week will bring!
