finally home…

This week was a  big one for our family.  Even though we finally moved almost a month ago now, we finally closed on our new home.  It’s ours and we are so relieved a310Norwoodnd excited that God provided a place for our family to make many new memories and that we can use for ministry and sharing the love of Christ with others.

We had hoped to close on our house at the end of June, but our bank kept putting off the closing date.  So, we have been renting since the end of June.  Even though we were in our home, it still didn’t feel like ours yet and their was this stressful cloud hanging over us about when and if we were ever going close.  Monday at 3:30 or so when I walked out of the realtor’s office, all those stresses were gone and a wave of relief swept over me.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for our family as we sold our previous home, moved, and now finally closed on our current home.  There were tons of hoops and ups and downs, but we are finally home.  Please continue to pray that we will use our home to both raise our kids to serve the Lord and also be used to reach others!

patience…patience…patience…and exhaustion…

patienceThe past few weeks and the next few weeks are all becoming one big whirlwind that has not gone as expected, but is still going nonetheless.  As I have shared on here before, my wife and I are in the middle of getting ready to move and to transition to a new ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  In my plans we were going to close on our current home  at the end of May and close and move into our new home at the beginning of June.  However, that was not to be.

We have had a month of thinking we are going to close on our current home one day only to be pushed back a week, and then another and then another.  Every day was a reminder  that everything is pretty much out of my control and left up to God and his timing.  It seems like He has been daily teaching and lessons in patience and dependence on Him.  It’s been overwhelming as I look at my upcoming schedule of various ministry events before I leave KMM, taking kids to FCA camp, and a plethora of other things coming up and wondering how we will be able to close and move at the same time.  More and more to trust God with for sure.

If all goes well, we are finally going to close on our new home this week and then the last week of June close on our new home and move.  The good news is that the ball finally looks to be rolling and we are so excited to see progress.  Please be praying for us as we have much to do in the next two weeks to finish packing, close on our current and new home, and in the middle of it take kids to FCA Camp.  Overwhelmed and exhausted are things we already area and know are going to be more intense.  Pray for strength and energy to get everything done that we need to get done.  Pray that we will continue to be patient and trust God as we know that when dealing with banks dates can still change.  God’s got it all in control and we know at the end of all this chaos, He has great things in store for our family!
